We are pleased to have contributed to the preparation of Assogesso’s first Sustainability Report. Assogesso is the trade association representing manufacturers of gypsum board and other gypsum-based products, covering over 90% of Italy’s total production.
On October 27, at the Sala Portoghesi of the Terme del Tettuccio in Montecatini Terme (PT), the event “Dialogues on Nature” took place, promoted by the Blue Resolution Association in collaboration with Arbi Dario S.p.A.
The event featured a series of talks and discussions focused on sustainability and circularity, which are at the core of the activities of the Blue Resolution Association. Founded on the initiative of the Arbi family with the support of Arbi Dario S.p.A., the Association contributes through its initiatives to the protection of environmental and cultural heritage.
ERGO S.r.l. supported Sammontana in the preparation of its first Sustainability Report, published in recent weeks. The Report analyses and presents the company’s environmental, social and governance (ESG) performance and is structured around the three pillars of Sammontana’s sustainability journey: Health & Wellbeing, Sustainable Supply Chains, and Environment.
Assovetro’s second Sustainability Report, developed in collaboration with ERGO— a company of the Scuola Superiore di Studi Universitari e di Perfezionamento Sant’Anna of Pisa — is now available online.
The Report presents the activities of 19 member companies operating in the flat glass and hollow glass sectors over the period 2016–2020.

UNIONFOOD – LIFE MAGIS: Pilot implementation of the Made Green in Italy pathway in the food sector
Within the framework of the LIFE MAGIS project (MAde Green in Italy Scheme), alongside UNIONFOOD and in collaboration with the Scuola Superiore Sant’Anna, we supported companies operating in the ice cream supply chains (Sammontana and Froneri), packaged snack products (Barilla and Ferrero)
In collaboration with SELENE, we carried out a comparative Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) of standard FFS (Form Fill and Seal) packaging made of 100% virgin polyethylene (PE) and FFS packaging produced using the NextBag™ manufacturing process, containing 50% PRP—recycled PE generated at Selene’s Capannori facility through the recovery of Selene’s own production waste as well as material collected from external recycling centers.
We support Knauf Italia in the development of its Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs) under the International EPD® System.
The EPD is a certification that clearly and transparently describes the environmental impacts associated with the production of specific quantities of a product, based on a Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) covering the entire lifecycle—from raw material extraction to end-of-life.
In collaboration with FOURGREEN, we developed MISURHO, an innovative, certified LCA-based model specifically designed to analyse and report the carbon footprint of food & beverage distribution services and their impacts on final points of sale.

ASSOFOND – Made Green in Italy: Rules for measuring the environmental footprint of cast iron and steel
In collaboration with ASSOFOND – the Italian Foundry Association, we developed the Product Category Rules (PCRs) applicable under the Made Green in Italy scheme for cast iron castings and steel castings. Made Green in Italy is the national voluntary scheme for the assessment and communication of the environmental footprint of products, managed by the Italian Ministry of the Environment and Energy Security.
In collaboration with ASSOLOMBARDA, we developed a tool for measuring the circularity of hospitality facilities. The tool was specifically designed to address needs different from those of the manufacturing sector, identifying tourism-specific areas of analysis and integrating the key themes of the main certifications relevant to the hospitality industry.

FEDERCHIMICA COACH: The tool to measure and advance the circular economy in chemical companies
In collaboration with FEDERCHIMICA, together with Certiquality, we developed COACH (Circularity-Oriented Assistance for CHemical companies), a customized tool designed to measure circular economy performance in chemical companies.
Sammontana's commitment to sustainability is supported by valuable collaborations with institutions, academic and research organizations, and competent and authoritative partners who guide the company towards the best tools and most informed choices.
