On October 27, at the Sala Portoghesi of the Terme del Tettuccio in Montecatini Terme (PT), the event “Dialogues on Nature” took place, promoted by the Blue Resolution Association in collaboration with Arbi Dario S.p.A.
ERGO and the Institute of Management of the Scuola Superiore Sant’Anna participated in the event, contributing to the discussion and presenting several ongoing projects developed in collaboration with Arbi Dario S.p.A. and the Blue Resolution Association.
In particular, ERGO, Scuola Superiore Sant’Anna and Arbi are working together on the implementation of the VALCHIRIA Tool – Value Chain Circularity and Capabilities Assessment, a tool designed to measure the circularity of Arbi S.p.A.’s supply chain.
The tool provides a broad and comprehensive analysis of both the circular management of resource flows among supply chain partners and their ability to integrate circular economy principles into their activities and processes. Specifically, it assesses collaboration capabilities among value chain partners, innovation capacity, circularity strategy management and risk management, as well as the ability to regenerate natural and social capital and to adopt a systemic approach across the entire value chain.
Thanks to the direct involvement of supply chain partners, the results generated by the tool make it possible to understand both the individual contribution of each actor and the role of the entire network in generating, preserving and optimizing circular value.
Another ongoing project concerns a Decision Making Tool (DMT), a decision-support instrument designed to identify effective strategies to address the issue of marine litter.
The DMT is a data platform capable of providing differentiated solutions based on the specific characteristics of marine litter in a given area and on the needs of those seeking to take action to reduce the related environmental, economic and social impacts.
The tool returns a set of 15 best practices, ranked according to a matching percentage that indicates the relevance of each proposed solution in relation to the selection criteria defined by the user when completing the questionnaire. The questions guiding the selection of marine litter solutions are few and simple, although they are the result of extensive research and in-depth analysis of the phenomenon, carried out with the involvement of sector experts. Likewise, the mapping of possible solutions is based on an analysis that will be continuously updated to reflect the most effective initiatives and to ensure a high level of collaboration among all stakeholders.
